Matt Koveal

MATT KOVEAL (he/him) is the Executive Director of the No Name Pops, a Philadelphia-based orchestra created by the former musicians of the Philly Pops. At NNP, Matt focuses on making music accessible to all, building an ensemble that engages with the community, and prioritizing the needs of its patrons. He is dedicated to eliminating barriers to entry for pops music, collaborating with organizations that offer affordable, community-driven programming across Philadelphia's neighborhoods.

With a background in orchestral management, production, and audio engineering, Matt has collaborated with artists such as Ingrid Michaelson, The Flaming Lips, Kevin Puts, Mason Bates, Jack Black, and OneRepublic. He co-founded Agora Brass, a pre-professional ensemble aimed at providing opportunities for young musicians and composers while fostering community engagement. He is also a founding member of Equity Arc, an organization promoting equity for BIPOC musicians in the field. Matt remains an active performer and educator.

Matt holds an M.M. in trumpet performance from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and a B.S. in Music Education from Messiah University. In the summers, Matt serves as Production Manager for the Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival in New York.
