Ingrid Arauco

INGRID ARAUCO, composer, has received awards or fellowships from the American Guild of Organists, Yaddo, and MacDowell, and commissions from the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society and the Kindler Foundation in the Library of Congress.  She studied with Robert Hall Lewis at Goucher College, and George Crumb, George Rochberg, Richard Wernick, and C. Jane Wilkinson at the University of Pennsylvania.  Her compositions are published by Theodore Presser Co. and Hinshaw Music, and have been recorded on the Albany, Innova, PnOVA, Capstone, and Meyer Media labels.  She is Ruth Marshall Magill Professor of Music at Haverford College, where she has also served as chair of the Department of Music.  Since 2006, she has been coordinating a Network for New Music residency at Haverford which includes concerts, master classes, and collaborations with student composers and performers.
