Leon Fleisher Conducts

Leon Fleisher, whose musicianship is the stuff of legend, joined the Network for New Music Ensemble a few years ago in a memorable performance at the Perelman Theater.  Fleisher brings his magisterial musical vision to Philadelphia once more, conducting the Network Ensemble in a one-time-only performance of music by Hindemith and Stravinsky.  While Fleisher's personal story "has catapulted him up next to Lance Armstrong as a symbol of the indomitable human spirit," the purity and distilled beauty of his music-making continues to inspire musicians and audiences alike.

Presented by the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society.  Program also features Ligeti's Aventures/Nouvelles Aventures, and a pre-concert lecture at 6:45 PM by composer David Ludwig.
